I have some nice backroad routes from Oregon if you want to take them. Saves on those wide open slabs

Also, From weed the best route is 89,44,36 into Susanville. It's a really nice ride. Good Burgers in McCloud too! (my secret spot).

I really like coming back by Eugene. Then back through Lake View. Likely Ca. Is cool to. The Desert side of Ravendale kinda Sucks. But I still like it.

When I go through McCloud Dale your going to have to give that spot up.

Take I-90 East over Snoqualime Pass, then south at Ellensburg on 97. That will get you to Weed, or to La pine, where you can choose your highway.

The Weed route is quite scenic, drops you into Susanville.

The La Pine route is faster, they aint many folks on that road, triple digits most fo the way. Least thats what they say...far be it for me to have actually cruised through there on the Monster at that kind of speed ohhhhh nooooo  ;)(lol).

Any length of time on I-5 is tooooooo muuuuucchhhhhh. 97 south thru Washington is better. Just remember to SLOW DOWN around Goldendale. Goldendale is the mecca of Washington State troopers who like to give tickets for 5mph over the speed limit.  The climb into Oregon up through the gorge is fantastic turns ; Bend, Oregon is the next ticket zone.

I loved the time I went to the gorge. Wow. That place was something. The views were great and the company was even better. We spend the night a log cabin camp site. Bikes everywhere. We even went up to Crater Lake. I didn't know that was there. I'm glad my party did though.

I hate the way the troopers do out of staters their. Writing tickets for 5 miles over. So why bother to come back for some tourist dollars. I just stay away. They can have it. I got written up for 62 in a 55 in my work truck. I couldn't believe it. I learned though. I hope my relatives can pay the taxes. Cause I'm not ready to come back and throw some money at that economy.

You are so correct on the tourist dollar argument.

They will never figure it out. Revenue drops, they increase fines and taxes, people hate it..then stay away.

Revenue drops again...increase fines and taxes....more people stay away..it is endless.

Nevada will be the right state to live in for the next 20 years, I love it there. The rules are simple.

Business likes Nevada too, my current employer here in Washington is facing increases in wierd taxes, L&I insurance, and unemployment insurance rates, increasing as much as 150%.

We have a trooper down here out of the Carson City office that cites for 1mph over the limit. She's an ass.

But, NHP is learning from others and the 'revenue generators' are out in force now. LUCKILY, Nevada still has "Rural Speeding" on the books and most tickets (depending on where you are) can be plea downed to that. It's a no point, no record ticket.

But yeah..the Burns PD in Southern Oregon will always get you. OHP uses lots of Airplanes too.

We're We just discussing all these tickets in Oregon on another Thread? May you really have to be cool on the street. Remember these clowns look at you as extra revenue. The counties are hurting. They need all the extra dough they can find. and it's US................... >:( >:(
