It's going to be a little dicey over Quincy & Oroville way, but I'm going to chance it.  Showers forecast, but I think they're wrong.

Anyway, I was thinking of getting started today around 9:00 AM or 9:15 AM from the north route Starbucks.  Route will be Sierraville to Quincy, La Porte to Oroville and either return to Quincy or come down through Downieville home.

Late notice and poor riding forecast.  I rode solo.  Almost made it to Downieville, but had to turn around, as it started to rain.  Tucked my tail between my legs and ran back to Bassetts and tried going over Golden Lake loop, but immediately got rained on there too.  Then I went back to the hwy 49 Calpine turn off north to Quincy.  A gust of wind blew me sideways in one of that road's 25MPH S turns.  The front end washed out pretty good.  That scared me a little, but the conditions were dry.  It was just super windy.  Made it down La Porte road to the east summit, but the road was all wet from recent showers, very slippery, with the appearance of more showers headed my way.  So I took a quick gander out over the mountains and turned back.  I had thoughts I was gonna dump the bike today.  Some of the turns I took at 10 MPH.  Pine needles, muddy clay on the surface, just didn't look good.

Came back via Quincy to Sierraville and stopped in to see Dean, who was helping out his sister do some last minute construction.  Hung around there for 20 minutes or so then headed to Truckee for a splash of gas and home.  The bike was really dirty, but then, it was dirty before I took it out, so no loss there.  She's all gassed up and purdy for Tuesday night!

CHP coverage was light.  I may have seen the same guy twice today.  He was chasing a Harley into Quincy right after I started onto La Porte rd, then another similar/same looking CHP was chasing to BMWs going westbound as I was coming back down La Porte.  That's the first time I've seen a CHP out that way.

All this tells me is that you should have come out to see us at the track.  No rain, some wind, actually got kinda gusty after 3pm.
Looks like I may be out for the rest of the Sundays/Weekends.  We'll see though, freakin school.   ;)

I was going to do that upon arriving in Graegle, but then I saw an opening in the clouds all the way to Quincy and thought it was destiny.

I"m wondering where were headed this weekend too.   I'm headed to Mexico on Saturday and won't be back for a week.  So I'll have to miss everyone on this ride.   I'll make the one the following weekend.  I need to do Ebbits and have lunch in Markleeville with Warren.  I want Ice cream.   :thumbup
