Is it too early to plan a ride to Hwy 36 & to the coast? June 9-10 would be good for me. One week after Memorial weekend would cut down on the traffic on most of the roads.

That road looks fun.

That road IS fun. Over 100 miles of gnarly twisties. Fun on a bike....sucks in a car.

Back in 2004 I found myself on 36 just by chance. What I remember was when I got to the coast I said to myself [Wow that was a lot of turns]. I was on a 03 BMW GT loaded down for a long trip. It was very fun but would have been much better on a lighter bike. I took care of that problem. See everybody soon.

Hey Kevin. We'll definitely have to do 36 this year.

Twice!
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

What are your thoughts on this. Leave friday noon. Friday night at Red Bluff. Sat Red Bluff to coast than back to Red Bluff for sat night. Sun Red Bluff back to Reno. I am looking at packing very light.

This Friday or are you saying some Friday in general?

Heck, with an overnight you could easily go from Red Bluff to Fortuna, down to Leggett, Ft. Bragg and back to Red Bluff in a day.  Cut out Ft. Bragg, like a Leggett to coast and back, and you could make it all the way home with just one overnight.  Red Bluff is under four hours away, (3.5) if I remember correctly.

I think he is referring to the weekend of June 9th. I don't have my tournament schedule for June yet so I don't know if that is a free weekend for me. This is a great idea and I am sure we can figure something out. ;D

How about fri June 8th. I know this can be done in two days but by the time I ride from dayton to the start of hwy 36 I may be a little tired. I would like to ride 36 out and back in one day from Red Bluff. But anyway as long as we get over to the coast and back and have some good fun thats all that matters to me.
