Good call, don't want to take any undo risk when out by yourself, especially in the winter.  I used to carry waterproof matches in my old dirt bike.   You can dump some gas from the tank and start a fire if you got stranded.  Need to find a place in the new bike to stash some.  Riding that rocky section of road with snow on the rocks would have been tough. That single track we found on the way back bypassing the rocky section is the way to go.  Lots of wildlife out there. Seeing a bear while riding would be, um memorable.

I have been thinking about going back to that track in Fernley too.   It would be a perfect spot to take Greg so we could take turns riding.  I'll let you know when we plan to go out there.
