Good interview with Mat about his dislike of NASCRAP, I mean AMA Pro racing this year.

I particularly like this quote "At the moment, with where the series is headed, and where it is now, we're racing on bikes that are better suited to getting up on Sunday and going to have a latte and a piece of carrot cake at Starbucks"  :D :D

WARNING: If you didn't watch the races this weekend, there are SPOILERS

I don't blame a top level racer for wanting the best equipment,  but the lap times for 2009 are the same or better than 2008. how is that a problem? and he is on a 2008 bike so far. later this year when everyone is up to speed on the new rules (and how to cheat...i mean stretch the rules) they will be running faster times than 08. i don't see the problem. with the bikes being closer to stock than before, it means a lot more to the street bike purchaser. and it lets all the brands in. i like it better. again, i'm sure it sucks for the best racers that they can't have the absolute best equipment, but thats what motogp is for.

mladin 2009 superpole : 1:23.404
mladin best lap during race : 1:23.749
spies 2008 pole qualifying time 1:23.366
mladin 2008 qualifying time : 1:23.940
