Does anyone have experince working with video files from a VIO POV1.5 helmet cam? They record video in an AVI version 1 file. I can't get it to work with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I understand that it's possible to convert it to a file format that does work with Adobe, but it's over my head. I've got some great vids shot from my front fender and need to edit.

Are you running the Demo to premiere 3 or the full version, I am running CS3 and have not had any avi files that did not work in premiere.
I do have a friend that knows a lot about CS3 and will ask him.
also right click on the file to see which codec it used to upload.

An AVI should just go right into CS3. Do you have all the Adobe updates installed? Can you email me a small file at zach@s3films.com

Yes, I have the full version with all the updates. The help manual says that AVI version 1 files need to be rendered to work, whereare the AVI version 2 files are supposed to work fine. I think it has to do with the codec, and I don't have the faintest idea what a "codec" is. I'll shoot you a small file so you can see it you can get it to work.

There's that codec thing again. If you friend has some time to help me get them to work I'd happy to reward him in $ or beer or scotch or whatever. I've wasted hours and hours fighting with it.

I just ordered a new sportbike and I'd really like to have it working when the new toy shows up.

If catz can't figure it out let me know and I will talk to my friend, he lives in Ukiah CA.
But if you want to shot me a small file I will send it to him also.

Did you happen to load the trial version first? The codecs will not register with it and if you just try to load the licensed version over it you will get these issues.  Try these places

Another thing would be your computer may not be able handle CS3 graphic wise and be either slow to process and time out showing a codec error.
If you want you can send a file as others suggested to highlander@darkastle.com
Good luck

Your helmet cams format is MPEG4 avi.
Here is the link I found this at.
