Dean Gixxr is riding tomorrow around the Sierra foothills and I'm probably going to head over around 10:30 AM from W. McCarran.  Wind chill on the summit at 11:00 AM is forecast to be 34*, but I think that's not accurate  ;).  I'll be bundled up for sure!

I will fuel up at the (north) West McCarran 7/11 before 10:30 and move out on time, if some of you are looking for some warmer riding temps on the other side of the hill and can tolerate 45 minutes of cold riding each way, come on along.  No pace on this one.  We're just riding and there's bound to be water and sand in various areas of our ride.  Heading back by 4:30 PM to get over the summit before the wind chill hits the freezing mark.

Scott, try these on for size.  ;D

Spring came early for the three of us.  What a day!  The cold spell on top cleared by Emigrant Gap, which made all the foothills very Spring-like.  The pine cones on 49 certainly made it interesting, but that wasn't the big scare of the day.  Leading on the way up to Uncle Tom's Cabin, I came up over a hill and the road went from dry to singletrack snow. :ohno  Dean and I grabbed all the brakes we could.  Phew, that was close!  Maybe it sounds exaggerated, but not at the time it wasn't.   I worried about Cat coming over it on his big connie, but he saw it in time and Dean and I couldn't turn around quickly anyway.  Everywhere else was near ideal, including the out and back to Placerville.

We stopped for lunch at the Georgetown Pizzaria.  Okay.  It's my new town favorite.  Great Philly Cheesesteak.   It was such a nice day I considered sitting outside.  :chilling

*** Sigh *** I love doing this stuff.

Dean left his bike with SPL's Brian for a week of dyno'ing.  Dean's making a bunch of preparatory changes to his bike to make it as fast as Cat's Connie or my little 9.   :crackup   Seriously though, he's gearing up for TTP/AFM.  So far he's reversed his shift lever to Moto GP style, gone -1 on his front sprocket, and this week had his Power Commander mapped to his new slip-on SBK Leo Vince.  He says it gained 16 HP.

All to keep up with our bigger bikes.  Yeah, I know.  It doesn't make a lot of sense.   :dunno :headscratch
