MAD MAX

Just wanted to know how many riders there are in the Minden / Gardnerville area to go on some regular rides. I moved here from Sonoma / Marin county (northern cal) about three years ago and haven't done much riding due to not knowing any riders out here. Looking for anyone who likes 88, 89, 4, 49, Markleeville 89 loop, Smith valley / Bridgeport loop, Yosemite etc... and the occasional long  haul out west to the coast and other North bay twisties!? Thanks.

Hey MM,

I live/ride in Douglas. There are a few of us. 1trackmind here rides A LOT! I ride to work everyday in Carson and take the occasional weekend trip places. My wife rides too.

GreenMachine and a few of us just rode down to Bridgeport via Smith Valley to have lunch a few weekends ago. My wife and I ride to Volcano for lunch a lot over the summer. We are always doing Markleeville/monitor and VC.

We have bike nights on Mondays and we move it around. This monday it will be at the Home Grown Grille (the old arby's) at 6pm. Come on down and say hi to the folks. Alan and Tammy (Johnson Lane), 1trackmind (ed, ranchos) and myself (fish springs) should be there along with a few others.

What kind of bike do you have?

There are several sport/tour bike riders in your area.  Sometimes all it takes is to post up a ride with a little advanced warning.  In fact, if you look back to a ride back in April, you'll see we rode the Smith Valley to Bridgeport loop starting in Gardnerville.

Welcome aboard and hope to see you out on a ride soon.

First of all thanks for the info, everyone on this forum seems to be pretty cool so far. I will try to make the monday bike night tomorrow, how late will you guys be there (i have one last monday night class but can probably leave early)? My schedule is changing shortly to include weekends off to hopefully start going on some of these rides. In California I use to ride everyday that I was able, commuted into San Francisco every morning but always rode on the weekends. My wife knows how to ride but never rode her triumph speed four and we sold it before it died of boredom! I have had many bikes, most recently I just sold my pristine but high mileage 2005 R6 to a friend in Carson (he has been riding for two weeks) and someone just drove over it on Friday morning (he wasn't hurt), and I just replaced it with a new 2007 R1. I'm about 50 miles away from break-in being completed and look forward to knowing just what this bike is made of. I bought the R1 to go on longer hauls (I just drove to Zion UT on the Grand Canyon and can't wait to ride the same route). But Monitor pass is going to be a great after work loop for now, I did ride it late Friday night (still warm) and yesterday afternoon. Thanks again and will meet some of you soon, (Jake) ((Rouinstrough???)) neighborhood, Rocking Horse Rd...

Utah on an R1?  If that's true, you are The Man!  :bowdown  Are you interested in heading over to the Cali coast?

There's an even mix up Reno way of short and long distance riders and I know n10sive and Edmunsan are good for either haul as well for the 'south' riders group.  N10sive will fill you in on the Monday rap-up time, but I think it's fairly similar to the Tuesday Night SSA Bike Night, ~9:00 - 9:30.

Hey Jake.

Sorry for the slow reply. What time we stop really all depends on the people and the weather. Some of us are getting old and need to change our diapers so we leave at 7-7:30. If we pick a good place and we get on a roll, we could be there till 9. Like I said...it really all just depends (pun intended :))
