This pisses me off. Profiling people based on what they drive/ride. I'm calling NHP and Douglas County Sheriff to voice my displeasure.

As a motorcycle community, this is the type of stuff we need to fight. It sucks.

Distracted drivers, unsafe motorcyclists targets of traffic patrols

QuoteThe increased patrols will specifically target distracted drivers and unsafe motorcycle riders

Yeah, I get it. Riding a motorcycle is inherently unsafe. Sometimes you have to do things on your bike to "get in the clear" and avoid unsafe situations. It's not like a car. Does it mean though that as soon as a LEO sees a bike we get extra attention? Nothing like being profiled.

That oughtta help.  Thanks n10sive!
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

I looks like this riding year will require a more than usual eye out for the NHP. There funding has been getting smaller and they are just looking for any way they can to make a little more money. I was just popped at 22 mph over a few weekends ago. He said he would keep it at just 10 over to avoid any points ect. They really only wanted the $75. they did not want me showing up and running this through the court system as this would only cost them more money.

It's just the first two weeks in April.

Then we can go back to being hooligans.

I gotta ride to work so that is two weeks I have to behave LOL

I figure if they stop me and go "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I can respond "yeah, cause I ride a motorcycle"  ;D

I concurr.

It truly is a money game. If were about safety they would be targeting Soccer Moms in SUV's.

That is truly the most dangerous vehicle on the road.

I have respect for the LEO, I just make sure I am riding at reasonable speeds. (most of the time)
