Saturday, up Monitor way..........

Sorry to see the weather so crappy this morning for the Sunday riders. I guess I was lucky in going out Saturday.
Anyway, as most of you that have done Monitor realize that roads seem much straighter than they actually are from a GoPro camera's perspective. You can get a better idea of how tight the curves actually are by looking at the lean angle of the mirrors. This ZX14R is a monster, climb aboard and let's do it!

Hopefully the rain on sunday has washed the dirt off of the road. Still looks like a lot of imbedded dirt from winter. It will shape up very nice in another month.

Yeah, Monitor should be good to go after all this rain. Nice thing about Markleeville this past Saturday was that my fav outside restaurant is open for the season. The one just north of the general store.

Jimbo, Ginger and I did Monitor last Saturday and it was in good condition. I think we passed Ralph going the other way.  It looks like a new pizza place has opened up next to the deli so we have another option for lunch.

Hey John! Yeah, I was up there with Ralph Saturday. Have you been up Yuba Pass lately? Wondering about the sand conditions, whether they spread more sand this past week or was it just rain up there? I was running low on gas and rode on into Topaz, then home, while Ralph made another pass over Monitor. That was when you more than likely saw him. We'll all (Sierra FOGs) get together soon John!

I rode Monitor after work yesterday.  And after work today.  It's all fine except for a little sand in the section with aspens on both side of the road.
