MSF was a success

The MSF class was great!  Got to meet some new riders, and we all had fun.  Our rider coach was a cool guy, and everyone in the class passed the riding test.  My only complaints were getting blown around by the wind and riding on a worn-out parking lot with lots of gravel and tar snakes.  Overall it was a learning experience that everyone should go through to be safer on the streets, IMHO.

I didn't like waking up so early.  Class starts at 7am and my house is about 30 minutes from TMCC.  I'm a computer nerd, so I tend to stay up half the night and sleep in every morning.  It was nice to see the sun rise though; I haven't seen that happen in quite a while.

I also got a knee down on the first day of class.  I'm so proud of myself!  :D  Of course, that knee-down came from grabbing to much front brake during the emergency stopping exercise...   :-[  That was my only crash, and it just reinforced why I bought a bike with ABS.  As you might imagine, when I got home that night I fired up the Ninja and practiced some emergency stops.  I love it; no matter how abruptly or how strong you grab the brakes, the bike stays upright and the wheels don't lock up.  It was good to learn how to ease into the brakes properly though, and now I have a lot more confidence stopping if I ride a bike without ABS.

Anyhow, that's it.  It was fun to skip work for a couple of days and play with motorcycles.

Ride safe!

Playin' hooky from work on MCs is a worthy way to spend your time.

Congrats on getting your knee down.  Now you know what it takes.   :D
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

Thanks guys!  Our rider coach was a great guy.  He used some of rnickeymouse's YouTube videos to demonstrate the difference between a low-side and high-side crash.

High-side:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlMbFlPzS24

I suggested there is a third category of crash:  The hill-side.   :D

Now you're a true rider! Glad it was nothing but a scraped ego  ;)
