For those thinking of going on this Sunday's ride, I just spoke with A Dragon, it's Hwy 162.   There was some confusion about the Solstice ride being on the date of the Solstice, but that ride is actually the following weekend 06/28 as listed on the weekly ride schedule.

Please pass it on so that people don't make plans, gear up, and show up to *$ at 6:30AM this Sunday.
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

Where is the turning around point Oroville?

I would imagine Sunday's Hwy 162 ride would start at Starbucks (*$) at the usual 9:30AM join up time.   Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Dunno the route for Sunday's ride, but I played hooky last evening, just wanting to see where the Feather Falls trail head was.  It's a future hiking destination.  Got lost a lot yesterday.

A note for Sunday's ride, CalTrans was sealing the pavement yesterday between Sattley, CA and Bassetts, CA.  Very slippery and gooey.

The plan is to go to the end of Hwy 162 and turn around. You will not go all the way to Oroville.  :)

Andy is correct. The typical departure is 9:30 for this one. I'm open to leaving earlier if anyone wants to. The typical route is 80 to 89 to 49 to Gold lake turn-off. Up through Blairsden to 70 to Quincy. Gas up and hit 162  ;D down to the convenience store before Oroville. Stop for a break and head back to Quincy for lunch. Return the same or 70 all the way to 395 for those that need to get back earlier.

For those that have not experienced 162, your in for a treat. I'm going to do everything I can to make this one.

I know I'm just a "putz" but I'm pretty sure 162 goes way past Oroville and ends in Longvale at 101...  ??? 8)

This section of 162 is one of my favorite rides! Awesome road! I am actually planning on making this ride if you can believe it.  :o

I should be there.  Looking forward to Hwy 162.

Bigcat, so is this a correct representation of the ride?

Here is the full course according to Google Maps, with waypoints and linked pictures along the way.  170 miles one-way, 340 miles round-trip, if you go back the way you came.

The map waypoints can be interactively moved/dragged for alternative routes home.

You would be correct 9er. My wife and I are headed up that way today so i'll scope things out. Looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new ones tomorrow.

Have fun guys and ride safe. I won't be attending as I am opening the engine up in my car to determine how badly screwed I am. :(
