tell me more about track day/ drag night

Im new to the club and Im looking forward to going to track day, not to ride (this time) but to watch and see how the whole thing works.. I have to figure out where to dig the money up for leathers... but I hear after track day I can go ride it with a pace bike up to 40 mph.. Id like to get the feel of that and watch others and take pix.. but I really want to go on the same day that there will be drag racing afterwards, Im up for that! someone please tell me the day that we will be down there for that, and count me in! Im looking forward to spending time with the club, learing some riding techniques, and having a good time. If anyone wants to take some time with me, show me the ropes, etc. Id appreciate it! I havent been on a bike for over 10 years, and 2 months ago I got a 2000 R1... I took the college course, and Im ready to rock!  If you read this and wanna help hit me up thanks... youngster775

firstly, you did the right thing and bought a yami  second, welcome to SSA! For leathers, hit up 2wcp. He rents them and has various sizes. I would recommend hanging out with us for our next set of trackdays this month out at RFR. The day before SPL will be hosting the drags once again where I will be seeking my revenge on a certain RX-7. There are several members on this forum who participate in our track days as instructors and are VERY knowledgable (notably Justin and Adiggity). The 40mph lap you are referring to is known as "taste of the track" and allows anyone with two wheels and a helmet to check out the track in a very safe manner. One problem with this is that if you came to watch, you are going to be kicking yourself for not coming to ride

Simple solution: Watch on Saturday...ride on Sunday. Done!

July 24 I believe is the date of the drag... or is it the 25th.

No fee to spectate the trackday. No clue on the drag scene.
