It seems like I'm learning all kinds of things about my bike.  While tinkering with my suspension today, I noticed my front tire wear.  It looks like the left side of the tire is wearing flat comparied to the right side which is cosiderably more rounded. Has anybody seen this?

It comes from riding on tracks with mostly left hand turns.  You are just wearing faster on the left side of the tire than the right.

i have herd of this before, i dont know if this is true because i have never had it happen but two reasons this might happen is you go around left turns faster because you can see farther on a two lane mountain type road, and some roads are made with some slope to the right to allow the rain to drain makeing you ride more on the left side of the tire, hope this helps ???

Thanks ellis..make sense to me.  I just thought it was really strange.

My theory is people go faster on left hand turns because they aren't hanging off the throttle side.
I hypothesize that this is why most people drag their left knee first. (sometimes months/years before the right)

ellis has a point about the crown in the road, but it is less than a few degrees, so I'm not certain that this is the explanation...  I suppose if it was flat 'just off center,' I'd have to agree with him

I still don't find anything funny about ??? ;D

I assume you are riding strictly street?? Change your route. There are too many left turns on it.  :)

Maybe it's the tire?  Since there hasn't been an overwhelming response of "I've seen this before." I typically ride all over the place.  Although, I know that I do turn better to the left rather than the right.  Maybe I'm just getting deeper into the turn?

any chance you are not sitting on your bike square? Played around today and actually make my back track straight, but leaned to one side by shifting my weight in the seat. Got me to thinking that if I rode 'cock eyed' that I could wear my tire off center. Just a thought.

I get a slight bit more wear on the left side of my tires due to the fact that I work in Carson and Washoe valley is windy every day on my way home. It's like a 6 mile lefthand turn.  ;)
Keep the rubber side down.

Take a picture so I we can see where the wear is.

Where the Wear, hehehe
