Ratchet or cam tie downs, which are better to trailer motorcycles? ???

Both are handy to have. Cam ones are great for getting set up if you're alone. Ratchets are the ones I trust though.

Ratchet tie downs are less likely to come loose while driving.

I use cam tie downs and have never had a tie down come loose.

It's just a matter of preference.

I get the one that will hold at least 400 lbs.
I have driven back and forth and back and forth with my bikes in the rental truck...
Never an issue.  Not for one moment. Do keep in mind that I am also using a baxley sport chock.
I'm certain that contributes to the security

It's easy to over tighten the ratchet ones and damage your bike. Our service dept reccomends those :)

I always use the normal cam ones with the extra end piece for going around the bars. Buy GOOD quality cams, not the cheap ones and tie them down correctly and you'll have no problems.

Also be carefull with the excess tail. I backed over a tail from a ratchet and it crushed what was in the bed of my truck and almost tacoed my bed.
