To those who know him, Eric passed on. There is a thread on BARF about it.

For those who don't know, Eric was a trackday instructor who was severally crippled during an AFM race back in April. It was a brutal accident. Eric was on his way to recovery, but was left a paraplegic. He finally succumbed to the pain and suffering.

Sad day.

Eric Arnold killed himself.
I have very mixed and conflicting feelings about this.
I have had many people near to me kill themselves, and I work with death and dying every single day, and this is a very difficult thing to get my head around.

I hope his mind was quiet at the end, and wish peace for all who loved him.

I have mixed feelings about it also. A family member of mine killed himself. But reading about Eric's situation.. I just don't know what to think.. I have no room to judge tho, I never met Eric.

if anyone hasn't read Eric's blog, do so. It is very touching. He showed incredible strength at times. His last entry is basically his suicide note and he tries to explain how he felt. Whether I agree with suicide or not, the whole blog is very emotional and at times inspiring. It is ashame that that the depression and despair finally got the best of him. I is not my place to be his judge however, so I will not do that.

I have been reading it for a while.  I agree, it is very touching and intelligently written.

Eric was a very intelligent man. I was so shocked to hear this when it happened. It really is amazing how powerful a persons mind can be. I never thought he would be the type to do such a thing........very sad and humbling at the same time. Such a shame I think. He was a person with so much to offer. My thoughts go out to all the friends and family. RIP Eric. Glad I got to know you.

Just read his last blog. So sad. I cannot fathom being in his situation. I never met him but I was aware of his status. An intelligent and sensitive man. You are free now, Rest In Peace.
