I wanted to thank Alberto again for sharing his wonderful restaurant with us.

Alberto doesn't have to host us, but the wait staff has no choice.
Are we taking care of the servers when we're there?
What is everyone tipping?
I know the pres. tips in cash so the government doesn't steal too much (very cool Jerome)

I just wanna make sure that these people (who remember our names, faces, favorite beverages, etc) aren't forgotten.
When we're there, we are taking the staff's time and attention away from their other diners.

That's the word Justino.  :)

Good looking out. I've worked in the service industry and taking care of servers and bartenders is very important and goes a long way.  ;D

i know I always feel bad when I walk out of Alberto's and don't see anything on the table. I remember Alberto telling us that his guy comes in on Sundays to help us, and the he works for tips only.

Also as an FYI, they changed the tipping IRS rules many moons ago, so it doesn't matter whether you tip in cash, or on your check, as the tips are 'estimated' in their payroll already. It doesn't matter whether he makes $2 or $20, he will still pay the same tax (which sucks for them).

Also remember if you get a discount you should tip based on the original price not the discounted one. All the servers at one of the places I worked hated working a group that got discounts because their tips were discounted.

Of course Kudos to La Vecchia! It's like my home away from home for me. Thanks for the hospitality and the great service Alberto and crew! I may not be able to direct traffic away from the GSR restaurants anymore but I still spread the word every chance I get to randoms.  ;D

Good point, Peter!
It ties into my point:
Owners have a choice, the staff has to deal with it (and they shouldn't be punished)

If it was my business, I'd wouldn't host the bike night every Tuesday.
Alberto does it because he loves the club.

I will say it Justin. "TIP" don't be a cheapass.   :o

If there is one thing you can count on other that the great service from the SSA's meeting place is me putting my foot in my mouth.

Just to let everyone know. If the club is picking up the tab. I make sure we tip very well. I always ask the staff to give us good attention and to be very courteous to all SSA members. I don't want to hear anything negative from the SSA members. I make sure we do tip them.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Alberto will need some help in the kitchen if any of you want to help him out before the meeting. Here is your chance to help out.  ;)

I have the opposite viewpoint.
I don't want to hear anything negative about the SSA members

I'm speaking of all the times the club doesn't pick up the check.
I'm there 4xWeek.
