One of our boys got his suspension set up at the track today, and now he's riding an amazing machine instead of something that has a lot of potential. (maybe he'll chime in here)
I'm telling you. . . If you haven't done this. . . you need to.
Best 20 bucks you can spend.  (and if it costs 400 dollars, it would be worth every penny)
I won't accept the "I'm not good enough to know the difference" because you most certainly will.
We spend 10g's on these machines and they are set up like crap.  I'm serious here folks.
Get your suspension set up by a suspension pro.
Nobody wouldn't settle for a Ferrari that handled like a Yugo.
For just $20 you can get rid of your piece of crap yugo.

Don't know if your talking about me or not but I had mine done today. I think my suspension problems led to my crash on Saturday (at least contributed). Turns out the tail was soft and the front was stiff. I was having trouble with the bike 'pushing out' of turns and really having to fight to keep it in corners. Spent the $20 to get Phil at AfterShocks to do the tune up and man o man! What a difference. Went out on the track and first time I took turn 2 I knew that was the fix! Bike started going around corners like it was on rails and didn't push out anymore. I KNOW it definitely helped my lap times. So now I can work on other things like lines and body position and stop wearing myself out fighting the bike around the corners. I definitely recommend spending the $20 to get the work done.

Here is their webpage

He is always at the Zoom Zoom trackdays. Even if you don't do the trackday you could still ride out and get him to work on your bike. Otherwise we have some local guys that do a decent job too.

It is definitely important to have your suspension checked if you are new to the track. Usually the street set up is WAY off from what you want at the track. Phil at Aftershocks is great. So is Dave Moss from CRST. Jenx1976, if you ever get  to a Keigwins day, Dave will be there. Have him explain the DVD you bought or just give him a call. He knows his stuff for sure. He's been working with AMA teams for a while and is especially good with R6's. Believe me I know first hand!!

Yeah, but do I want my suspension set up for the track?  What should you do if you mainly ride on the streed but do a trackday here and there?

Russell, if you like the way your bike feels on the street, just record all of your settings before you have anything adjusted and you can always go back to where you were. That's how I know where my suspension should be when I go back and forth between tracks. If you need some help, give me a shout, I can help you the first time. But you may just like it better after you get it adjusted at the track. Obviously not all tracks or riders are the same, so suspension should be set up to how YOU RIDE. I think too many people emphasize weight as to how their suspension is set up. It has more to do with how you ride than your weight, by far I think.

Thanks for the feedback, good information.

ADigg is right on two counts, i think.  My new bike was so far off 'out of the box' that when I had it set up for the track last year, it was 50 times better on the street.   And I think it has more to do with balancing the bike for the particular rider/riding style.

Just have Zoran set it up for ya ----then --he will say.    OPEN THROTTLE , RIDE FASTER.
;D
Need  money!!!!   WILL WORK FOR TRACK DAYS.

I have been watching the Dave Moss online videos. Dave Moss Two Clicks Out videos

That guy really knows his stuff, a bargain at $20, it looks like the price was raised to $40.

I want to get mine adjusted!
