Since I have ridden each of these passes in the last 2 weeks, I can vouch for the clean roads.

We start with Gieger Grade to VC, then down the truck route to Carson City; up Spooner (Rt 50) to Tahoe, down Kingsbury, and then on to Markleyville. I was in Markleyville last Sat and my good source tells me Monitor Pass should be open this coming weekend, so why not finish the ride there.

We could meet at the Chevron at Virginia & Longley at 10:00 or so?

BTW Green machine's bike had a twin sister!

Good show wills I was gonna go to Lemon Vally to check out a Kart race to give my 13yr old son what his shifter Kart is about. However he will be getting lessons in a couple weeks, we can just do that. I wanna ride me me me! I rode Gieger and truck route Mon. It was'nt bad. Just drag the inside foot like a flat tracker. I think the wind (natures road sweep) should clean it up a lot. I would take the BMW R1200RT and maybe talk n10sive into taking his ;) BRILLIANT wills!

I also took a spin up the truck route and then down Gieger into Reno this past Sunday and the conditions weren't all that bad. Lots of sand on each side of the road, but for the most part, pretty clean within the actual travel way.
I live in CC so I'll be watching this thread closely, might be able to hook with you guys as you pass through. I'm hoping that last night's (Wed) dusting of snow didn't have the sand trucks going crazy up in the higher elevations!? >:(

Think I might join this one. Supposed to be pretty nice this weekend. Hopefully someone can go by TR and the Grade before then to let us know how clean it is.

Went to VC today. Geiger is fine, was blown all over the road. The truck route has some dirt on it, but the wind was brutal, gusts from every direction. I kept the speed down, hopefully next time will be better. I will be heading back on Sunday.

3/27 Rode Kinsburry and Spooner early evening (sunset). A few snow runoff spots. East off Spooner summit, and at the fire house Daggett summit (knsbry) otherwise roads were clean.

I failed today and brought Rick with me to the wrong meetup spot. We missed you guys by a mere 10 minutes and went on a short VC ride instead.

I was late too.  Gassed up and made several key lights on the way.  Wills' group was a tough one to catch, but thankfully he stuck to <his route> and stopped at the bottom of Kingsbury Grade.  From there we had lunch in Markleeville, served by this SMOKING HOT flirty little waitress (we'll be back!!).  We took our time there and Wills kept ordering more food until he ran out of money.   :P  From there we explored Monitor, but that route isn't ready for anything with less than four wheels (sand & water run off).

We stopped on the way back and decided to reverse the entire route, which we did.  Saw lots of law enforcement going in the other direction and got painted several times, but conditions made it so our speeds were proportional to the sandy conditions (slow), so no real threat.  Even saw two NHP bikes going up VC hwy, but they didn't seem interested or in any hurry.

Sorry I had to skip out early and miss the Markleeville festivities :o I think I passed green machine on the way back up Kingsbury. It was a great day for riding. Today?, not so much. :'(

Too F-ing bad!!!  Get to work like the rest of us!  Yeah, I'm jealous and pissy at the same time.

Yes, that was me.  Glad you guys stopped.  And yes, we definitely need to plan a trip for food at the Markleeville deli/bar for any Friday or Sunday when Ms. Little Hottie is working.   :o   :P  Ughh!!  Sorry.
