I ran 10.34@139. Rickey Gadson ran 8.90@156 on the same bike (brand new stock zx14r, lowered with a pipe) right before me.  This was at his drag racing school at a track in Maryland on Tuesday/Wednesday this week. I had a blast and Rickey Gadson is a really great guy. 

The real story at this school was a rather eccentric Canadian guy (Andrew) and his friend/mechanic drove 4000 miles from BC pulling a trailer behind a supercharged Yukon with a 4.xx something posi rear end, getting 6 miles per gallon. He said it cost him $7K in gas to get there. He brought a bike with all kinds of one-off gizmos on it including homegrown launch control. Poor Andrew was almost there, driving his truck when he got lost. He got pissed off so he floored it and popped the clutch, immediately destroying his entire rear end. The good news was that Rickey had someone go out at 3:00 AM to tow his truck to the track, hooked him up with a repair shop and had someone pull the trailer the rest of the way to the track.  The launch control never really worked, but his bike was a interesting example of the spare no expense approach.

since I was brought into It as the resident Yamaha expert, this was last summer on my 2000 R1 with exhaust. running pump gas on an uphill 1/4 mile at fernley... this is for you Allen, since you want to bring it up... I miss that bike, but I'll try It again on a 6 yr. newer model.....

I've always had an issue with my hole shot.... but before this I haven't dragged since I was 18. Just wanted to see what It was running in the 1/4.... not bad for a old stocker.....
