DOT race vs slicks

can someone explain the advantages / disadvantages of either tire....for track application.....just wondering whats a better choice...thanks!

DOT's are so good now that I think they are the way to go. Unless your really fast and racing, then the slicks aren't worth the money. And with DOT's they work better for if there is a little water on the track. ( That is basically the idea behind DOT's. Better in the rain. )
