my 05 has 23k mi. True miles, because even though I changed the gearing I calibrated the speedo with a speedohealer on the dyno and have compared it to gps. a lot of bikes will show more miles because of the gearing change, but no speedo correction.
No rebuilds, no motorwork of any kind. Just standard service and a couple of clutches from drag racing.

I'm more in favor of valuing engine wear based on RPM hours (which is not measured).  Wouldn't that make more sense?  Obviously high RPM track miles are not the same as low RPM highway miles, so 'miles' is not a good indicator of engine life.

My understanding of all these water cooled motors is that they'll last beyond 60K miles with normal road use.  Obviously, these are engines made out of metals that wear, so performance will naturally degrade through use.  If you're only getting 10K miles and aren't being hard on the motor, something is amiss.  Large displacement touring bikes tend to be ridden less strenuously and last forever.  600cc high RPM bikes tend to have shorter lives.  I ride 99% touring 1% racing/passing: 35K miles so far on her.  And she still scares the hell out of me.
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

aprilia has 34k, Kawasaki has about the same. Track bike who cares. Go till it blows.  SV not really applies is like 13k.

Steve I was wondering can you recalibrate speedometer's so their correct after a gear change? or what's the best thing to do?

You get the speedo healer that you can order from me, don't have to buy everything online. And you recalibrate it with it installed. And you have to keep it installed for it to work. What it does is take the signal from the speed sensor and changes it how ever much you set it to, to compensate for the difference in gearing.

Thanks Mikey and Steve. I didn't know anything existed like that. I really screwed my ZX9's Speedometer. I'm about 15 mph faster than I'm really going I think :-\.  I'll let you know in a few weeks Steve. So I can order one.

'02 GSXR 750 = 40,899     (gearing)
'04 Daytona 955i = 20,100
'08 Piaggio mp3 400 = almost 7k    (cup holder  ;))

normal tunes on all bikes, nothing major engine wise.
