And the pics & picture gallery from SCR's ride two weeks ago.

Where do you want to meet to leave from Reno? [2]

And so you guys can have an idea how crazy I am about motorcycles, I saw the second picture and was like "wow, that road looks cool", but then I was, "oh, wait a minute... damn, it's a river!"  ;D ;D

And thanks for posting the actual route GM cause honestly, trying to figure it out only by the information on the other topic gets a little messy for me sometimes.. :-X
What?? Trackday?? I'm in!!!

I know of roads that look just like that. Unfortunately, not that close :(

Okay, I revised the map. Point A* is the Winner's Corner Chevron on Huffaker and S. Virginia.  For the Reno earlybirds, we could meet there at ~8:00 and leave by 8:10'ish.  Point B is the Topsy Lane Starbucks, the actual start point for all south of Reno rides.**  I've been late leaving Reno and caught up to the group in the past.  So if you miss the 8:40 Reno departure, make a bee-line for the next point on our route.

The map route should be construed as a rough estimation.  It isn't uncommon for the group to change direction later in the day based on everyone's input.  After all, it's our ride.  We can do whatever we damn well please, right?  Some people enjoy shorter rides and will turn off early, while I usually like to add stuff to the route as I go.  ;)  And this ride won't be the exception.

*If you're familiar with Google Maps, you can actually see pictures taken along most traveled roads.  That's what the icons are for.

**All participating riders should be familiar with the first several paragraphs on the SSA ride schedule page.

Green Machine. Thanks for coming through again. If we leave at 8:40 are we still going over V.C. ? or is it a straight shot to Carson City? I would like to go over V.C. if we could. But the chevron is a pretty good place to start from. We'll top off in Carson City. I believe a new Chevron has opened between the last Traffic light before Hwy 50 and Topsy Ln. I'm in and I'll see you at the Chevron on So. Virginia and Longley. I'll be there by 8:00am. ;D ;D

Oh, I didn't know you wanted to add that onto the route too.  Are you thinking of picking up more stray riders up there?

~8:00 AM it is.   8)

I guess some things were meant to be.  :)

SSA is a great bunch.  Every ride has been memorable, but you're right, when A Dragon and BigCat are along for the ride, it's going to be a GOOD ONE!  What you missed Jimbo was about three minutes after you split off, our group got a free pass from a LEO goin the other way.  Phew!  Not really breaking the rules that bad, but still, you never know.

Mike really rode his motard well.  I was impressed.  I'd love to try one of those out some day.  Glad too that Jameson stuck it out with us.  Eric fit right in like he'd ridden with us before.

Good food.  Good stories.  Excellent ride & riders.  I just eat this stuff up.

Okay enough talking, I know what everyone really wants here; pics.  Here you go.  Click the pic for the gallery.  There are some action shots this time.  This is the old service station pump in Dardanelle, CA.

Glad you like!

I read about SCR's ride over La Porte/Quincy/Oro-Quincy hwy.  It sounds like a bunch of their riders were tickled about the ride, less one. They had a minor low-side accident.  That and they had to ride through the searing Central Valley heat, which had to be brutal in full leathers.

It was good riding with you again too Jim.   Seeing how excited you were when we rode past was one of the days' highlights.  Has anyone mentioned before that Starbucks and Hayabusa's don't mix?  :P

Fun ride and a nice group of people. Thanks for letting me follow along. I work a "different" type of schedule, but I will definitely get out for some more rides. If I can get my track bike together and my schedule aligns, maybe you guys can show me around RFR...

Thanks to John for pulling the train back and forth over Sonora and to GM for catching by bike while I was "examining" the bushes!

Jerome here's a couple of threads that will help with your 'Prilla charging system:

It must be that time of the month, because I'm all butt hurt that I wasn't able to go!!! >:(

But I did do a nice easy 200 hundred miles by myself here on the coast.  A Zig zag formation from SLO to Morro Bay (Turry Rd) then to (41West) Atascadero, back to the coast at Cambria (Old Creek Road),then back to Paso Robles (46 West).  To get back home it was 41 East, then 229 to 58 then 101 down the massive grade, I forgot how farm towns like filling in cracks with oil. :o

I have two more days left here, we'll see if the family allows me time to do 58 E or 166 E since those are all dayers too.
