Hey guys, I'm sorry but I wont be able to go for the bike ride this weekend...cause I dont have a bike anymore, at least not one that is running...

I crashed yesterday coming back from Reno costco after buying my GoPro (the very last one that they had!  ;D ;D) that I was so excited to use. Coming out of 395 going to 80, that big nice rounded spaghetti bowl that I so love to hit, i lost control of my front tire and low sided towards the oncoming traffic on 80. Not quite sure if I went all the way to the other lane but what I remember is seeing the road passing by my eyes really fast, a huge cracking noise and pulling myself backwards trying to get as far from the 80 lanes as I could. A lot of people helped me and besides a really screwed up knee (probably ripped something inside, not quite sure yet) I am fine.

What really sucks out of all this is my bike  :'( The tank is gone and the front and hear fearings are broken. I think the chassis didnt really suffer anything but I need to verify that. Other than that, i think the bike is fine, but looks bad! I'll post some pictures of it as soon as I get them - need to wash it first to make it look prettier tho  ;D... If no bent was caused to the frame, i want and I will put that bike back together and could really use any help that you guys are willing to offer...but right now, i have to worry about the upcoming bills...

So have a great ride guys, ride safe and I'll tell you what happened on the final game of the world cup next time i see you all. I guess I was meant to watch the game!  :D

What?? Trackday?? I'm in!!!

Doesn’t sounds your bike is too damage. I’d like to see the pics.  :(

Hope you have your bike done till the track day.  :)

Oh Jose I am so sorry :'( I am very glad you are ok.

His name is Joao... Joao Paulo...;D ;D ;D

Thanks for all those words guys, even the one that was to Jose!  ;D ;D ;D Just kidding Alberto, my friend!!

My bike, after taking a better look at it, doesnt seem that much "destroyed". Things I'll need for sure to make it "rideable" again is:

- A gas tank
- The carburator cover (Intake manifold, i guess)
- The metal piece that goes underneath the rider seat
- A brake lever
- Foot peg
- Rear turn signals

Not bad huhn?  ;D I mean, i'll need some fairings too, front and hear are broken, but thats just cosmetic. I'll take a look on how much all those cost and see how far from now i'll be able to get my bike going. If anyone knows anywhere here in Reno where I can get those parts from (like a pick and pool thing) that would be great, otherwise i'm just thinking about ordering it from e-bay....

About the trackdays, I wish I could go but I think what happened to my knee is more serious than i really wanted it to be. I'm not sure if i'll have all my movements back till august. I am already slow at the track with it working 100%, no way I can make it if its not fully recovered... ;D

I'll keep you guys posted on my recovery and i might see you on some tuesday bike nights. I'll get a scooter!  :P
What?? Trackday?? I'm in!!!

Hey JP, I went out and checked out your crash site.  You are lucky you took out the sign, otherwise you may have landed in the middle of I-80.  Did you get to the hospital yet?  Your knee looks pretty bad.  I hope you learn to go FAST at the track and not on the street! ;)

Remember to brag about the tow company.

Get Well

I can dig it. I have repaired both knees. Lets see if I can spell this right (Minicus tears) I still ride with no problems. I just wear a neoprene brace to play my Racquetball.

Crashes suck, no doubt about it.

I just had one, then Rossi, now you.

You and I are in excellent company.
Glad we're all 'ok' and that at least one of us is worth millions and millions.

Actually my phone didnt make through the crash and I lost everybody's number, pretty much! So thanks for posting it again!  ;D ;D I'll call you to see what time that would be better for you, buddy.

And I went to the hospital right after, took some x-rays and nothing showed up. Everything was good as far as the x-rays could tell. Right now, looks like I have 1.5 knees but is getting smaller. I guess I'll wait a couple more days and then, if it still bothers me, I'll go check it again. But thanks for the support guys!

Yeah they do suck! I didn't know you have had a crash lately. Sorry to hear that. But going on the same line, it's "part of the game" cause even the number one do crash sometimes... i just hope I can get back on a bike as fast or faster than the millions dollars guy did!!!  ;D ;D
