Had a lady turn left into me tonight  :o :-\ Almost avoided it but ran out of road and she hit me in the saddlebag. I was doing about 45mph and got 'pushed' a few feet more off the road. Was heading for a ditch and thought about bailing but hung on and just pretended it was turn 12 at RFR ;D Managed to keep the bike upright, avoid the ditch and keep some skin. Beemer DESTROYED a saddlebag and the rear light  :'( :(

I can really attest to how riding the track helped me out on this one. First for being able to put a massive swerve on, and a second time to avoid the ditch and keep a cool head when "going off track" :)

Good job Dale.

Glad everything is fine with you!

But the way, were you wearing leathers?

I'll see you at the track. Like a said before, next time I wanna make some laps with you on the track section.

Got the bike home ok. Wife came by in the truck and we loaded all the pieces into it. Rode it the mile home. Tomorrow i will deal with the insurance adjuster. All in all probably not bad. A new saddle bag and a rear light for me and a piece of plastic for her lower bumper and it will be done. Oh...and we each got a ticket  :'(

Was really funny. Another benefit of track riding is that time slowed down for me and my heart didn't even raise one beat during the event that I can remember. Surprisingly enough, I was pretty calm before and after. It wasn't even as scary as making turn 1A ;D It was just like doing a job. The lady that hit me was probably surprised to see how calm I was. She was pretty upset and I think me being calm and walking really helped her out.

Yes Rick..will do laps with you on the 18th!

If there's one thing about you Dale, it's your cool head.  I wouldn't have fared as well going down or with my temper after being hit.

Technically, since it was her fault, I'm going to give you a pass on this one and expunge it from your accident record.  :-X

As for the ticket. WTF!?  Was it the mandatory citation for littering?  That just bugs the piss out of me, given all the reckless driving I see.

You da' man!  :respect
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

no. It was my fault..and if anything the reckless driving was mine.  :thanks There was a little old lady driving 20 in a 35.  :rant :tard :fail I was coming up to the passing zone and started to pull around the cars.  :GrnWheelie She (the lady that hit me) had been following the old lady for a mile so I figure she wasn't going to pass. So I did. As I got along side of her she started to look like she was making the pass. I was like "OK, no problem as my momentum would take me past her before she got her wheels over the line".  :chilling Problem was, she wasn't. She was making a left turn (from right on this ladies butt too).  She basically just snapped off a hard left right into my side.  :o She said she never saw me as she didn't look in her mirrors but still...I probably wouldn't have either. I got the ticket because I wasn't in my lane and it was my responsibility to pass safely (which it is). I made a hard swerve but ran out of road, and then when she hit me she knocked me about two feet off the road completely.  :cuckoo

I couldn't be mad. I was more like "I'M STILL ON MY WHEELS!!!!  :disco"

So I survived to ride again  another day! :2cool

I feel bad for you...still, so all is forgiven.

A DRAGON

Dale. So happy to hear your OK.  That is a real experience to go through.  I'm so happy you were thinking and reacting all at the same time.  You know what your machine is capable of. What a relief it is.  I would say that you are a rider now.  Yes that time spent on the race track was well worth it.  Good Job.... :respect
