The weather is forecast to be about the same for Reno & Truckee, but 65* in Sacramento.  I don't know if I want to head down 49 off I-80 or go north for a spin around Sutter Buttes near Marysville.  Wherever, it'll have to be dry and warm.  I plan on getting back to Reno by dark.  It is Winter after all.

That's funny cause me and Trinie were actually planning on going for a little ride tomorrow as well. I am down for something not to long and with no ice on the ground, please!  ;D How long would be those rides (back and forth) that you just brought up, GM?
What?? Trackday?? I'm in!!!

Long enough to warm up and starting at the peak of the day's heat?  Probably over 260 miles.  California is beautiful at this time of year, all greened up, grasses along the roadside.   Also thought of just heading up to Sierraville, via Chilcoot, but that'll probably never warm up as nice as getting on the other side of the hill.

I just feel like droning down the road, feeling the engine humming alone under me.

Where were you guys thinking of riding out to?

Just throwing it out there. Be careful of shady spots.

Last year I came around a corner where it was full time shade and ... ICE!!!! I had to have my underoo's surgically removed from my colon after that! LOL

So be careful guys/gals! Have fun out there! I'll be riding someplace south and east this weekend hopefully! :happy dance

Sounds like you were just practicin' your track skills on the street.  And thanks for the safety tips.  I wasn't going to chance canyons on this run.  I just wanted to go for a spin on my favorite two wheel toy.

The ride over to Cali today wasn't half bad.  By the time you get to Gold Run there's a noticeable warming up, but so too is anything to the West of Boreal.  Beautiful sunny weather!

I skipped Hwy 49 at Auburn, trying instead for Sutter Buttes.  But by the time I got half way to Marysville, valley fog or low clouds were already starting to close in.  That made the ride colder, so I turned around and headed back.

We ended up going to VC and then Kingsbury and some other roads that led us all the way to the lake shore... Trinie would be a better person to tell where we went once I was just following! ;D It was fun though with some fast and slow moments (or maybe slow and reeeeally slow moments)! Sorry for not putting any other information up here earlier, but I almost missed meeting up with Trinie myself. Was a last minute thing...

Hope you had a good time!

Little [short] ride, my eye!  You guys went out almost as far as I did.

My plan was to ride around Sutter Buttes, which has some sharp and off-camber corners basically on the valley floor; willing to ride a great distance to a very little bit of fun.  I didn't want to risk sandy mountain corners on this venture.

That's what I'm always thinking.  I want to ride but as soon as I get started I say damm it's still kinda cold.   Sorry I'm kinda a wimp now that I'm retired.
