I mentioned the ride with the SSA tomorrow to a friend; he warned me that some of those guys pass on double yellows and go over the speed limit  :o I told him I was sure he was misinformed  :angel

Does he ride HD? :D

I don't think so Ducati Boy.   I saw him on  a Vespa going up V.C.  He had 10 Harleys behind him and he  was holding up traffic    :reporter
In Garage:
ZX9R
Aprillia RSV 1000
SV-650
GSXR-750

Had a fun, albeit abbreviated ride GM. Special thanks for demonstrating your mad flat tracking technique for me  ;D

Acutally, I think he was on the Vespa, but the HD's couldn't keep up with that fine piece of Italian machinery :|)

Flat tracking?? Sounds like a good story. I missed riding with you guys but I did get off work at 2 and decided to panic out. Did 50 to ice house, wentworth and explored my way over to mesquito ridge road. Sitting at Joe Carribe having a burrito before slabbin home.. So the day wasn't a total loss!

Last guy in.
Awesome roads today.
Thanks to all who swept me up.

GreenMachine thanks again for a great time.

I need a strong drink and to get off my feet.  Never road that long before. I'll sleep good tonight.

Cheers!

That was the section I was telling everyone about where you can be doing 25 and THAT'S FAST!  It almost appeared that someone intentionally dumped 50 lbs. bags of sand right on the hairpins...bike got very crossed up from where I was sitting.  Fortunately I was only going about 20, so as soon as I made it through the sand, she settled down.

KKM & Hornblower turned back mid-La Porte and the rest of us, less one, made La Porte.  Mmmmm the invisible hamburger was sooooo yummy!  I would have been satisfied with either the burger or an ice cream sandwich, but the burger was ordered and written down, but never sent to the BBQ.  :fail Then we got a wild hair.  Everyone was game for the long way home, so we came back via Buck's Lake.  Made it with fuel to spare and I think I have my fix again for another week.  :D

OldBolt was a wreck by the time we made Quincy though; old bones, new bike.  Last I saw him, he passed us on our way outside of Truckee, but it was slow going for his knees.

The merit award for this ride goes three ways equally to John and BoCole for sweeping and OldBolt for his mad grocery carrying skills.  Sweeping is such a thankless job and you both did it admirably!

Sorry, not one pic was taken today.  I forgot my SD card.  :-\
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

OldBolt,
If it was any consolation, my knees started to bother me once we hit I-80.   I'm having an Internet beer with you.   :cheers

Your bike looked very crossed up from where I was sitting too, right behind you  :|)
