Post here if you plan on attending.  WWS is a Sacramento Valley favorite.  This is a South ride so we'll depart from Topsy Lane in CC at 9:00AM.  The weather is predicted to be a scorcher.  Thankfully, most of this ride is at higher elevations where there is timberline.  We typically stop in Georgetown for lunch after the ride.  Hope to see you all there.

WWS will be the last ride for August.  After that, there are only four rides left on the calendar for the SSA year.

I can't find this route on a map.

Hwy 395 south to Hwy 88 west to Mormon Immigrant Trail, Pollock Pines, Icehouse,
left/north to Wentworth Springs to Georgetown
Return via Auburn

Can some one plot a route and link to it here? Or use names I can find on the map?

Thanks

Something like this, if instead of I-80 home, we took Hwy 49 home.

There's no easy way to get to WWS.  Either we go south and get stuck in 30 MPH traffic leaving Tahoe on I-50 or we go down I-80 for two hours to get to Auburn.  Jerome suggested he'd like to go Mormon Immigrant trail, just to keep a pace going and feel like you're actually moving.

If you move the map waypoints around, you can see the resulting distances of various shorter routes.

FYI, there is road work and Delays on 88 at Carson Pass.

Also, there is a neat alternate off of Immigrant Trail. You take the Silver Fork Rd a few miles in. Some great paved back roads. You come out above Wentworth at Kyburz instead of below. Nice swim spot on the way too as you follow a pretty nice river.

8:00 AM or a little after will be perfect.  See you Sunday morning at the Chevron or whatever they're selling these days.    ;)

Which way you guys going? I'm 90% in but will be departing from Tahoe City so will have to meet en route.

N10sive,

It sounds like 88 is having some major work done.  If we can't make Immigrant Trail from 88 how would we get back to these side roads?  Is there a route we can take to bypass the work on Carson Pass?  I've ridden Hwy 50 so many times on Sunday, that I'm sick to death of all the games people play.  88 was thrown into the mix because it's about the only other way I know of to get to Icehouse/WWS from the south.

Brian, the scheduled departure is for 9:00 AM from Topsy Lane in CC.  Were you thinking of meet us there or down by Icehouse Road?  If Icehouse, that might be a problem due to the construction on Hwy 88 and delays.  Hopefully there are some options other than Hwy 50, but if not, we'll just do the dirty deed of riding out of Tahoe with the billions of brain dead idiots going back home.  :rant

So, how about 9:15 or 20 at the top of 50 right before 28. There's a lot on the right side right after you crest the hill coming up from Carson. I'll be there taking a nap until I hear a kawi exhaust note.

Hwy 50?  Boring.  How about at the gas station (Exxon I think) at 28 and Kingbury?  If you miss this note, we'll just meet you at your destination.

And I have your number so I'll text you too.

Get a track day under his belt and some brownies in him and he starts talking, "let's do Tioga, after we get to La Porte and do Oro-Quincy hwy."

Maybe another day Brian.  You are a nut on two wheels!!  But I'll ride with you.

We linked WWS with MRR, then threw in Pike Rd & Downieville.  I still have to see what video footage I have.  Some of the best stuff didn't take, of course.

Thanks Brain!  Me not grumpy now.   :crazy :chilling
