Post here if you plan on attending.  For those who've never done it this is your last chance on an SSA Group Ride.  This is a North ride and it will be the first ride of September, so we'll depart from *bucks at 9:30AM.  The weather is predicted to be plenty warm.  Hope to see you all there.

After the La Porte ride, we'll only have Buck's Lake, Markleeville and the FREE Yosemite day ride/hike for the season.  There are no planned rides after that.
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.

I'll see if I can make the last couple.   Wife is still suffering from Morning sickness.

I'm down. Missed the last ride due to vacation with the family - road trip on four wheels.

Oh yeah!  My tires arrived Friday night and I spent most of today having them put on and cleaning up the machines.  Can we ride the Trifecta another time?

Nice, I did la Porte.. Was in great condition but a harley girl decided to attempt flight and I had to wait 30 mins for the helicopter. Rode down to Oreville and back up Bucks lake road. 162 is in terrible condition due to multiple road construction zones so plan accordingly.

Sounds like it was a worse day for her than you.

That road scared me the first couple of times too, following Wills CBR.  I even burned the brake rear up in that last tight section on the eastbound east side.  The last bike I'd want to try that canyon on would be a HD.  When I rode my ex-g/f's Harley the lean angle was so poor I would think roads like La Porte would be taboo.  Naa, give me something like Hwy 70.  Straight or mostly sweepers where I can feel like I'm canyon carving without tri-podding.

Btw Brian, I'm surprised you made the loop.  Did you take the Forbestown (bumpfest) cut-off or did you go all the way out to Loma Rica?  We may end up doing your route again today.
I'm getting excited already. :disco

I just kep going on la Porte road till I got to Bangor, took a right to oreville than up 162. Is an incredible loop, I just hope 162 gets cleaned up soon. When the leaves start turning, 162 is amazing! Hope you guys have a safe ride today.. I was really close to telling the GF sorry I'm doing it all over again today!!!

Oh yeah baby!   :banana2

:blackbike :bluebike :grnbike

Some of the new tarmac was laid down shiety.   They left it broken up on the surface which caused it to accumulate gravel deposits.  For the the stretches we had, it was heaven on Earth.

Time for a new front tire.
Oh and if any of you want to do the Trifecta tomorrow.  I AM SO IN!!   :cheers

I conceived the quardofecta... Ice house to WWS, MRR to forest hill, up to downieville, goldlake to Quincy, la Porte to bucks lake, back home. Who's in?
