Hey guys,

The title kinda says it all. This thread is for posting up pics of that bike you wish you never had sold. Here is a pic of mine with the description below.

This my 1990 Honda CB1 taken sometime in 1991. The CB1 was a kick ass little 400 with it's gear driven cams and was only brought into the US for 2 years. I put some effort into setting up the bike for the backroads with the following:

-Custom Corbin seat shaped for me.
-Forged Magura one piece clipons.
-Custom built rear sets.
-New red paint job with an old classic Honda decal on the tank.
-Stainless brake lines.
-Kozman cast iron front brake rotor with Ferodo pads.
-Fox Twin Clicker rear shock.
-Front forks gone through by Lindemann Suspension.
-Full Kerker exhaust system with jet kit.
-Ohlins steering damper on the other side of the bike.

I had a lot of fun on this bike, and it could hold it's own in the twisty stuff. Unfortunately, I was out of work at the time and needed the money, so had to sell her. I should have just slept in my car and kept the bike :). How about the bike you never wish you sold? Let's see it!

I haven't sold a bike; only bought three.  I haven't been riding very long.
Thanks to Sidi|Motion Pro|Vortex|Carters|Shoei for the support in 2019

I regret selling all of them.

The triumph sprint ST (1050)
was what I regret selling most

The Honda Magna was what I regret selling least.

1982 Yamaha 650 Seca..(not the turbo)

The bike was way ahead of it's time, 5 gallon fuel tank, Europeon styling; you could ride for 6 hours and still be comfortable.

Belive it or not, I paid 1700 for it out the door in 1983. I fixed the "woody brakes" (they were a no charge option), took all the heavy crap off of it, put a sticky Metzler or two on the front. It would handle well for the era.

I would ride from Wenatchee, Wa. to Portland Or. stop for ten minutes for fuel and get there in 4 1/2 hours. (300 miles)

I would buy another if I could find one.

Hey Ted,

I've always loved the 650 seca, but never got to own one. You forgot to mention the shaft drive and my favorite thing on the bike, that cool 8" headlight!

1995 Ducati 900 SS/SP.  It spent more time in the shop than I did riding it.  And it had a lowly 85 hp.  But the sound (aftermarket exhaust) was amazing and it was the lightest most flickable bike I ever owned.  Also, beautiful to look at.

1977 RD400  Was my first road bike. Had a lot of fun on that thing

I liked some of my other bikes, but those old air cooled bikes weren't meant to last and I don't really miss any of them.  Even one of my early water-cooled bikes wasn't really that special.  Just a bike with some good memories, but not legendary.

However, my present bikes rock and I wouldn't give them up for twice what they're worth.  Therefore the bike I wish I had never sold...hasn't.
It's about taking in the most corners to your destination, not about the shortest, quickest route.
