It's the closest we come to the longest daylight hours for the season and we have many options available.  Let me present them.  First since it's an all day ride, would you prefer?:

A) Saturday
B) Sunday

AND destination

1) All of Hwy 49
2) Ft. Bragg and back
3) Arcata, CA via Hwy 299 and back Hwy 36

Footnote:
1. An announcement will be made prior to departure as to where the intended route is to take us.  Please ask questions if the announcement isn't clear or if you have a concern that you'd like to bring up.
2. When slow traffic is a factor, expect that the ride leader may pull off to the roadside shoulder briefly.  Pull in behind the leader and keep your engine running.  The purpose of the stop is to allow for time and distance between traffic ahead of our group.  We will quickly rejoin the road just ahead of the next group of traffic flowing in our direction.  Doing so is often safer overall, reducing slow vehicle passing dangers and with more open distance, increasing ride appeal.

I'll go first with my preference.

I prefer A & 3...

going Saturday June 23rd and doing Arcata, CA, hwy 299 & hwy 36.

I'm in if it can be Sunday.  I work Fri night 6:30pm- Sat morning 7:30am so I'd probably be an accident waiting to happen being awake that long and tired.  And my feeling won't be hurt if you choose Sat   :P

GreenMachine

Then since you chimed in first, we'll make it a Sunday ride.

What route is your pleasure?

I have no preference on the route, but I'm guessing the longest and more twisties its "C" so that's what I want.   :angel

Am I going alone, or are peeps waiting for the last minute to chime in ;)

GreenMachine

Open mouth and insert foot.   :P

299 & 36 will be a 700 mile in a day ride.  That's too much, don't you think?  I'd still like to do these two highways as the preferred route, only, instead of starting in Reno on Sunday and ending in Reno Sunday, would you be willing to leave Saturday evening and head to Redding for an overnight? (two beds, haha).  That will shorten our Sunday ride down to 550 <here> miles, giving us time to actually stop along the way for bits & pics.

Hahaha, you are funny when you talk with your mouth full   :P  I could probably have enough sleep by 1 and we could leave at 2 or anytime after that.

Re: 2 beds
I know I could never replace Dragon ;)

If I did not need to care for an old dog this weekend I would be all over this. GM what needed to be fixed on your scoot? Any how have a good fun and safe ride.

I was thinking more along the lines of leaving Reno around 4 PM.  That should put us in Redding by 8PM, ZZZZ and great ride the next day.

Well I'll be up getting things ready so I'll be good to go @4p.  I live at the Sparks Marina so let me know where and when you wanna meet to head out.

GreenMachine

Do we want to take in La Porte or Buck's Lake on our way out?  I'd be up for that.  It would take us a little out of our way, but break up the monotony getting to Redding.

I've booked one room with two queen size beds so you won't wake up in the middle of the night with my stinky feet in your face.

I'm horribly unprepared for this trip, but I'll be ready by 4 PM.  Still have to find a dog sitter for my small pet and if I can get the electrical figured out on the old bike, if it's something easy, I'll be taking it.

We're back.  No problems with the ride.  We got a little carried away with ourselves though after fatigue and sleep deprivation set in. We traded bikes in Quincy hoping to keep everyone awake and because it sounded like a good idea at the time.  It not only woke up the pack, but some unwanted eyes took notice and insisted on congratulating us.   :-\

Ate at the SSA Thai restaurant in Oroville last night and at the Lost Coast Brewing Company in Eureka today.  Went for a dip in the pool this time too (Hey Dave, I remembered my trunks.), although the accommodations weren't half as nice as the last trip. Traffic was light in front of us and we had a good time getting our swerve on.  Sparky was great company, always good for a laugh when she lets you know what's on her mind.  Bumped into another SSA rider on 299 (small World).  It's just the way it worked out.

It was a long ride today, so I'll have to post pics and video as time permits.  Very tired & going to bed.

Thanks Sparky.  Even though there was a blemish to our trip at the end, I still had fun and would do it again tomorrow, if given the chance...well maybe not literally.  :D

Here's the route we covered starting yesterday afternoon.  MAP
