NORTH ROUTE ride, departs at 9:30 AM.

I know it's not necessary to actually post up a ride that dictates pace, since everyone is always advised to ride within their means at a level they feel comfortable with, but I thought it might add to the ride enjoyment for some of the not-so-fast riders for the leader to actually ride corners within their speed envelope.  I'm totally down with that, because I find enjoyment out of riding that way too.

So here's the ride for anyone seeking the camaraderie on a twisty river course for a good part of the ride.  I'll offer riding technique tips before and at stops, for those interested and lead by example at a C (beginner's) pace.  My hope is you'll follow my line (placement on the road) and hopefully help you build confidence in your technique and riding ability.

If others want to ride at the more typical B- pace, they're welcome too.  I'll just be leading a second pack of riders at our own pace, both to and from.  Sierraville and Downieville aren't that far away, so we'll only be a minute or two behind.  Total ride distance should be exactly 210 miles and there is a gas station in Downieville.

Please post up whether this appeals to you, so I'll know who's coming.

Only if you carry my gear or stand up while you take corners.   :D

I was hoping you, Dee and Scott would join in.  Scott can ride up front with the other riders.

I'd love to see you pull your helmet off after just one ride section and gleefully exclaim how much fun that was.  Breaking down your riding barriers brings a whole new meaning to this little motorized thing we call sport riding.

Scott sold his bike..so Dee only has hers.  I would really enjoy following you & getting my self to look THRU the turns & get my butt off to the sides of the seat!!

I am going to try to make some of the last remaining rides though.

Hey guys,

This a great opportunity for you newer riders to get some riding tips and techniques from GM and have a fun day riding in the mountains. Don't pass this up if you can get away from work and chores this Saturday!

Well as it turns out for most my Saturdays. I'm stuck working overtime. If I get the repair done fast I might make it. But knowing heavy duty trucks it never works that way
Have a good ride though.

It is for me.  I'll be there right around 9:30 AM ready to go.  Daytime lows continue to be 9 to 12 degrees above normal, which will be ideal for riding through the Sierras in the AM hours.

If there are no C riders, it'll just be a normal ride.

Cannot ride Sunday, which is why I wanted to do today's ride.  A short ride like this will suit me just fine; got chores to do after I get back.

Hope to see y'all out there!

Doggonnit DR!  The camera wasn't far enough out, so all it caught was your helmet up in front above my windscreen.  We'll have to try again on another ride.  The audio was all broken up too, despite covering the mic and setting its record gain to its minimum.

Great riding with you as always.  GM
