I have a tournament next Saturday. Sorry  :(

I love Yosemite.  Couldn't live there, b/c I'm sure a bear would eat me, but what a magical place on Earth!

Yes.  I'd love to go.

You realize it's 2 hours to Lee Vining and 3 1/2 hours minimum to arrive in Curry Village, so RT will be 7+ hours.

I've done the ride before several times.  Time always seems to slip away too quickly and before I know it I'm riding home in the dark.

Do you want to go for ride & picture taking along the way or hike or ride through the park and go out the west entrance to The Dragon/Hwy 49?  I'll be honest.  Hwy 49 + all 15 MPH corners, random gravel covered corners and no barriers wasn't anywhere near as fun as Yuba/Downieville 49.  Road is in great shape, but I rode conservatively; I wanted to make it home in one piece and I already had a gravel scare earlier in that ride.

Damn, you're hardcore GM! You're going on a Yosemite ride on Saturday and leading the last scheduled ride of the year to Downieville on Sunday :o!

It sounds like you don't like goat roads :). I like all types of roads, but if you twist my arm to pick my favorite type, it would definately be goats  8).

Didn't really think of it that way Mel, but you're right.  I have a decision to make.  Given that DR and I are probably going to turn this into another overnight/two-night trip, depending, Sunday's last ride to Downieville isn't looking good.  At least, not from the standpoint of me leading it.  DR hasn't been back to Yosemite in 30 years and it's a religious experience for me, so we're planning on doing a brief hike and spend as much time as possible in the valley.

If we decide to come home on Saturday evening, I could see leading Sunday's ride.  But I'm lining up a friend's cabin for our accommodations.  It's sweet and it's stocked with beer!!!!

Only time will tell.

That was a-w-e-s-o-m-e!!  Nature at its best, no stress, flexible schedule, easy ride, and lots of beer.  Can't ask for better than that.

According to the latest survey, 3 out of 4 people make up 75% of the population.

No clue.  Coincidence?  I don't know them and they don't know me.

Trackdays paid off for DR on this trip.  :ohno  Tioga Pass is not to be taken lightly.

He only told me about it later.  Impressive when you consider the near incident occurred in the dark as we were leaving the park and after he was near exhaustion from hiking most of the day.

But skills paid off once again.
