I checked the weather for Truckee and Sierraville. Both are in the 60's tomorrow with no precipitation and low winds. I still don't have my liter bike, but I think it would be fun to get out and ride on twisties given the weather is still favorable. Given the cold mornings, perhaps a 10 AM starting time is in order.

Anyone else available and willing?

No thanks.  Street riding is over for me for this season.  I don't think the high sierra passes will be in very good shape after the snows.  Let me know if I'm wrong.

Hey guys,

Just a heads up, I was up in Truckee late this morning for breakfast and there is lots of sand on the roads and runoff in sections. You can ride on the roads no problem, but not at a sporting pace, so it's a no go for me also tomorrow.

Thanks for the road information. Sounds like the good roads are no go for now. I will not plan for a ride tomorrow then.

Bummer. It sounds like it's still messy up top. May have to play on Geiger. Anyone heard anything about monitor?

The best bet for winter riding is Mesquito ridge road. Assuming Donner Summit is clear of ice you can tiptoe down to forest hill and they dont sand MRR so as long as its dry its good to go. I might head down this weekend depending on weather and temps

Tahoebrian5,

I'm tentatively in for this weekend down to MRR if the weather holds.

Right on Mel, I'll keep you posted cause I might have family coming over but I think for only one day. Both days look good on weather so far

Road to Downieville today, and 49 was sandy coming out of Satley over the ridge to Downieville. Guess riding in the mountains is over till next summer. It was great weather all the way but just too risky with all the sand on the road. It was a 'fun' time coming back down 49 to Sierraville.

Mel

Brian, no posting so it looks like you got caught up doing other things or the family got here early.
